City Hall

Alexandria’s City Hall was originally constructed in the 18th century and has undergone several renovations, featuring Colonial and Federal architectural influences. The seat of Alexandria’s government, it has been a symbol of civic leadership for centuries.

Part of the Women's History Collection:

Vola Lawson was Alexandria’s first female City Manager and a leader in government, known for her advocacy for racial and gender equity.
